Connect in three fields

LibreChat reads custom providers from librechat.yaml. One endpoint block adds avots.

Setup

1. Edit librechat.yaml

Add a custom endpoint under endpoints.custom with the avots base URL and your key.

2. Put the key in .env

Add AVOTS_API_KEY=av_mcp_YOUR_KEY to your .env and reference it as ${AVOTS_API_KEY}.

3. Restart LibreChat

Restart and pick avots as the endpoint. Set models.fetch to true to auto-list models from /models.

apiKey also accepts a literal key or "user_provided" (each user enters their own). If the endpoint rejects a default OpenAI param, add it to dropParams.

Model and MCP tools in one config

LibreChat keeps the chat provider and MCP servers in the same file, so you paste both at once and get Claude, GPT and Gemini plus the avots creative tools (image, video, audio, talking avatars) on one av_mcp_ key. You save it yourself, nothing is added automatically.

Questions

Where does the config go?
In librechat.yaml at the project root, under endpoints.custom. The key lives in .env as AVOTS_API_KEY.
Can models auto-load?
Yes, set models.fetch to true and LibreChat lists them from GET /openai/v1/models.
Can each user use their own key?
Set apiKey to "user_provided" and LibreChat prompts each user for a key.
How is it billed?
Per request from your avots balance.
Does it support function calling and tools?
Yes. The endpoint forwards the standard OpenAI tools, tool_choice and parallel_tool_calls fields (and the legacy functions/function_call), in both streaming and non-streaming mode, so agent frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, Langflow and n8n get real tool_calls back. Whether a given request uses tools depends on the model you pick: Claude, GPT and Gemini all support function calling.
